Additional Projects
Below you will find examples of the projects I have completed, both in academic and clinical settings, to inform and provide support to children and families facing the stress of illness, injury, and hospitalization.
I completed a series of infographics to synthesize and summarize research regarding the efficacy of child life support across clinical settings in a manner that is accessible to a variety of populations. These infographics are being disseminated with the goal of increasing the visibility of the child life profession as well as the evidenced-based best practice that underlies it. Please use the arrows to explore these infographics: if you would like to see an enlarged version, please click the infographic itself. You are welcome to save and share any infographics of interest as well!
During my internship, I completed a proposal for an interactive digital preparation book for Nuclear Medicine procedures. This project consisted of creating a proposal document and presentation as well as a demo of the interactive preparation book itself to enhance the existing benefits of preparation by providing supplemental interactive digital materials.
During my medical terminology course, I had the opportunity to create a set of learning tools that would assist children of different developmental stages in learning terminology specific to a particular medical setting. Please use the arrows to explore these worksheets. If you would like to see an enlarged version, please click the worksheet itself.
As an undergraduate, I created a mindfulness resource for hospitalized children and families. The resource consisted of 9 themed guided meditations and accompanying therapeutic activities, in addition to a book for caregivers detailing the benefits of mindfulness and meditation and including information on each of the meditations and activities. Below, you can find the caregiver book, an example audio focusing on listening to one's body, and the accompanying activity.
